Happy Sunday 👋🏾,

This week, I finally did something I’d been putting off for over a year – I hit the live button on my personal website.

What finally pushed me to do it? I got an email from my domain registrar saying my domain was about to expire. Yep, the website had been sitting there, ready but unpublished, for an entire year! That email was the wake-up call I needed to stop procrastinating and make it live.

Now, you might be wondering why I hadn’t hit the button sooner. Honestly, it wasn’t about the website not being ready – it was more about me. Every time I thought about going live, I got caught up in perfectionism. I’d tell myself, “Just one more tweak... maybe it’s not quite there yet.” The truth is, the site was more than ready. Friends I’d shown it to all said the same thing: “It’s good to go!” But still, I hesitated.

Looking back, I realise it wasn’t just perfectionism – it was a bit of imposter syndrome creeping in. Even though I’ve spoken at multiple events across the world, including at the Ben & Jerry’s European conference and in Australia, I still had this lingering thought:

“Who am I to say you can now book me to speak at your event?”

A lot of my speaking gigs have come through word of mouth or recommendations from people who have heard me speak.

I wasn’t actively putting myself out there and saying, “Yes, you can book me.” That’s where the imposter syndrome kicked in – the idea that maybe I wasn’t ready to make it official.

But after getting that domain email, I had a realisation: there’s no such thing as the perfect time. If I kept waiting for everything to feel ‘right’, I’d probably still be waiting now. So, I hit the live button.

And you know what? Within two days, I had two speaking enquiries. Whether or not they turn into speaking gigs isn’t the point – it showed me that putting myself out there was already creating opportunities. Imagine if I’d done it a year ago!

Waiting for the perfect moment is just another way of holding yourself back. Things don’t need to be flawless before you take action or launch a product.

You can always adapt, pivot, and grow along the way.

So, my website is finally live! Feel free to check it out: lawrencetijjani.com. And if you’re looking for a speaker, I’m your guy.

Let me own it – I’m an international speaker, and I’m ready for bookings!

Have a fantastic week!
